Footage accomplished…

…in other words, we returned from our second trip to Manchay and Lima with a strong collection of updated footage about our key characters Father Jose and Dr. Juan, and also about the current state of the Policlinico Carlos Hedreen. We also made a trip north to the fishing and resort village of Mancora, where Carl Hedreen (Ann’s great uncle) lived and established the first of many fish processing factories, which employed hundreds of local Peruvians. We also met a photographer named Nancy Chappell, one of many photojournalists who covered the activities of the Sendero Luminoso (the Shining Path) in the 1980s. She’s agreed to let us use her photos in our film, many of which I filmed “in context” while in Manchay. See the accompanying photo as an example.
